On Sunday, October 27, 2024, 13 young people in the parish of St. Clara, which is located in the village of Ivanovka, received the sacrament of Chrismation. Father Anthony Corcoran, Apostolic Administrator of Catholics in Kyrgyzstan, administered the sacrament of Chrismation to the young faithful.
As stated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, “together with Baptism and the Eucharist, the sacrament of Chrismation (Confirmation) constitutes the totality of the ‘sacraments of Christian initiation’, the unity of which must be preserved”. Therefore, at the time of the Rite of Chrismation, all the faithful renew their baptismal vows.
Father Martin Sebin, rector of St. Clara Parish, celebrated Holy Mass with Father Anthony, and it was under his guidance that the young people were prepared for the sacrament of baptism, with the Sisters of the School of St. Francis of Assisi playing an important role. As one young parishioner who received the sacrament of Chrismation said, “Now we are mature Christians and we will be more responsible for our faith”.
