From September 19 to 22, 2024, a fraternal meeting of bishops and ordinaries of Eurasia was held in Astana. The meeting brought together bishops and ordinaries from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Mongolia. Father Anthony Corcoran, Apostolic Administrator for the Catholics of Kyrgyzstan, participated in this meeting of the bishops of Eurasia.
The meeting of the bishops of Eurasia in Astana was of a private nature. During these days bishops and ordinaries gathered for joint services, held working meetings, visited the memorial complex at the site of the former Akmola Camp for Women Traitors of the Motherland (ALZHIR) and other memorable and significant places.
